
Episode 2 - Lauren Redfern
In this episode we interview Radio 1 Anthems star and presenter, Lauren Redfern. We follow her journey through her career in making it within the creative industry and she gives advice to fellow aspiring presenters.

Lauren Redfern is currently a third year Media Production student at Birmingham City University, 26 years old, with a diverse and long CV especially in the Radio industry. Before becoming a student at BCU, she enrolled else where, where she did not enjoy the course, lecturers or location; also pointing out it was heavily male dominated which made her feel insignificant.
She’s been involved in many red carpet interviews, events and a radio host on serveral radio stations, including BBC 1 Radio. Lauren has had a palethra of experience, she hosted the ‘Midland Property and Investment Awards’ in 2024 alongside the ‘Midlands Women in Tech Awards’, ‘Midlands Food Drink and Hospitatlity Awards’ and the Insirational Youth Awards’ with many more in previous years.
She was also a known radio presenter for Black Country Radio and BCU’s own Scratch Radio.During her last year of studies she made the ambitious jump to join BBC Radio 1 where she presents the show ‘BBC 1 Radio anthems’ alongside popular radio presenter Greg James, finally landing her dream role after years of hard work.
